Parent Volunteers
WHAT YOU NEED TO DO TO VOLUNTEER:
Fulton County policy requires all prospective volunteers register using the new 2015 - 2016 automated volunteer process. Volunteers may now register on the district webpage www.fultonschool.org. Click on "Community" and "Partners and Volunteers". The new portal will allow for a one-time registration as volunteers may select more than one school during the process. Individual campus registration is no longer required as volunteers will now be approved centrally.
You do not need to register as a volunteer to be classroom reader. Other opportunities to volunteer will be sent by the classroom Academic Coordinator. Communicating via email is definitely the most efficient way.Be sure to read “Important Things to Remember When Volunteering" below.
Volunteer Opportunities may include:
Science Lab
Classroom Reader
Math Games
Seasonal Activity
Important Things to Remember About Volunteering
1. Always be on time. The class has a tight schedule and a lot to accomplish in a day.
2. Story time: Please be prepared with books to read to the children for approximately 30 minutes. If you need, stop by the library and the librarian will be happy to help you make a selection or two.
3. Ms. Wade will be teaching other students during the time you are volunteering. She will provide you with information to get you started with your activity. Once the activity begins, she will not be able to help because she will be focused on other students.
4. If you cannot make your scheduled time, please call another parent to try and find a substitute or let Ms. Wade know.
5. Most importantly: Please do not share any information regarding any student and their educational or levels. This information is confidential and does not need to be shared with anyone other than Ms. Wade.
